Welcome to Southern MotorSports Safety
Southern MotorSports Safety is pleased to offer motorcycle education courses developed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), under contract with the Florida Rider Training Program of the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Since 1973, the Foundation has established internationally recognized standards of excellence in rider education and training, licensing improvements, governmental regulations and public information.
As of July 1, 2008, per s. 322.12(5)(a), F.S., every first-time applicant (regardless of age) for licensure to operate a motorcycle or trike must provide proof of completion of a motorcycle safety course before the applicant may be licensed to operate a motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle without the endorsement is a criminal violation.
Southern MotorSports Safety is affiliated with Pensacola Junior College. This relationship allows Southern MotorSports Safety to administer the mandatory basic motorcycle rider’s course for licensure on behalf of the state.
Classes are offered for novice and for returning riders. Southern MotorSports Safety provides the bikes and the helmets.

To ride a motorcycle above 50cc in Florida, you need a motorcycle license. We are proud to partner with Southern Motorsports Safety to bring you the required training in a fun and enjoyable way. About 1/4 class time... and the rest is spent on your bike or scooter, enjoying the open road!
